Chiropractic

Chiropractic treatment is a natural and safe way to heal the body from stiffness and pain. Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis, treatment and management of problems with the neuromusculoskeletal system.  This system includes the joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves of the body, with particular emphasis on the spine.  Chiropractic can be used by patients of all ages, and does not involve the use of any drugs or surgery.

Your treatment
Chiropractic treatment involves the use of mobilisation and manipulation of the musculoskeletal system which help to :

  • reduce in pain

  • improve function

  • improve movement patterns

  • reduce muscle spasm

  • improve the efficiency of the nervous system

  • allow the body to heal naturally

Your chiropractor will advise you on likely ergonomic factors affecting your condition and recommend modifications or changes to daily activities.  We will also provide a prescribed course of exercises which help to stretch and strengthen your body and prevent reoccurence of your condition.  Additionally we will provide you with ongoing support for pain management, sports injuries and your rehabilitation.

Treatment schedule
All patients are individuals just like the conditions they present.  Therefore the number of treatments you require will be based on your diagnosis, the severity of your condition, the results of your examination as well as prognostic factors such as age, family history, lifestyle, and the stage of your presentation.  Your chiropractor will discuss the number of anticipated treatments likely to improve your condition.  We will monitor you closely and reassess you to ensure that you are progressing and improving with each visit.

Your 1st Visit
On your first visit you can expect to receive a comprehensive initial consultation, including a full medical history and current complaint history and a thorough examination, which includes postural analysis, orthopaedic, neurological and muscular testing.  Upon completion of your examination your chiropractor will provide a report of findings, discuss the treatment options available and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
